I leave for work very early in the morning about 3-4a.m. as I look down our street towards the graveyard, some mornings I see a person on a horse holding a lantern at the entrance. I have had my wife and son both get up with me at least once each to make sure I was not seeing things. they have seen it also. The phantom of an old female holding a firearm showed up on the water's edge of Little Buffalo Lake gazing. Other folks in the vicinity have had equivalent sightings involving the same spirit. Locals who have witnessed this phantom assert this phantom takes pleasure in terrifying foolhardy people who come looking for phantoms in New Bloomfield. One thing's for certain, this spirit undoubtedly is frightening; one that any sane person would not want to encounter. The ghost of an elderly Indian chief was made out checking out Dark Hollow in detail around midnight.
