Schwenksville, Pennsylvania Ghost Tales My husband and I bought an old hotel in Schwenksville called The Fruitville Hotel . It was pretty run down so we totally renovated it, cleared the over grown property around the hotel and opened it again to the public. The hotel was old with thick stone walls. It looked like it was built in the 1700s. It had many owners over the years and had gone through many renovations. The downstairs was a bar, kitchen and restaurant, the second floor had six hotel rooms and the third floor we converted into two apartments. Originally it was just one. My husband and I both operated the business on our own. I tended bar and waited tables and my husband was the chef. We rented out the hotel rooms on the second floor and the two of us lived alone in one of the apartments on the third floor the other was vacant. One night after dinner was served and we closed up the kitchen. I told my husband that I was tired and wanted to go upstairs to bed and asked if he would stay up and tend bar for me. There were still quite a few people at the bar. So he agreed and       I went upstairs and went straight to bed and fell asleep immediately. It wasn't long after I fell asleep when I opened my eyes and saw a little boy standing before me bent over looking at my face. He had on a baseball hat and a jacket to match. He was also with another boy who looked similar to him but not identical. They both looked strangely old   fashion to me like from the early 60's. I didn't think much of that at the time because I was mad and thought two kids had wondered upstairs from one of the hotel rooms or from the bar downstairs. I sat up in bed and asked what they were doing there and they both looked at me like they were shocked and turned around and walked casually out of the bedroom. I got up immediately and watched them walk down the steps going to the second floor. They were both talking to each other very softly while they were walking. I grabbed my housecoat and ran after them. When I got down to the second floor I saw no one which was strange to me that anyone could have gotten away that fast. I then ran downstairs into the restaurant and bar. I asked my husband who was behind the bar at the time if two kids had been downstairs with their parents and wondered upstairs. Which is what I had assumed? He said no. It took me a few minutes to realize I was standing in the bar in my nightgown and housecoat in front of our customers but I didn't care I was really freaked about what had just happened, it was so incredibly real. Everyone thought I was just dreaming of course. I questioned all of our tenants that stayed at the hotel and no one knew of any little kids visiting that night in any of the rooms. About a week after all this happened I was tending bar when a customer I hadn't seen before came in and sat at the bar. He said that he used to come here a long time ago. He asked me if the swimming pool was still in the back yard and I said no. He told me that a few years back there was an above ground swimming pool in the back that a little boy had drowned in. The boy used to live next door to the hotel. After this man left I went out in the yard in the back of the hotel and saw faintly a round circle where people used to put sand before they put up a pool. This guy also told me a story about how one night a customer staying at the hotel in room 6 had his bed start shaking and a hole blew out of the wall of the hotel. Strangely enough when we renovated the hotel before we opened up for business. We removed the old plaster from the walls in that room and there was a place where the actual wall of the hotel had been cemented back up. At the time we didn't think anything of it and we put new drywall over it. Today this hotel is gone but I wonder if the ghost knows that.
