Baltimore, Maryland Ghost Sightings
There used to be a boy who played baseball on the Riverside Park field in the late fifties. He was about 5'10 and couldn't have weighed more than 150 lbs. He generated so much bat speed that he could hit the ball more that 400' often from home plate over the Railroad tracks.|
I heard that he played military ball later in the sixties and went on to play several games in the majors where he hit 3 home runs in the 4 games he played. He elected to reenlist
in the army and was killed in Vietnam.|
His ghost has been seen down near the tracks on several occasions. His first name was Mike and he was a friend
of George Seltzer and a boy named Dufflemeyer. I do not recall his last name but he lived on Byrd Street.|

Comment by Monk: I remember him. He went to Poly and didn't play ball there because he had no way to get home from the games. They used to call him Calavito because of his arm he threw like Rocky Calavito the Cleveland outfielder.
I saw him make a throw from the water fountain at the ball field to home plate without the ball getting more than six feet off the ground. He was amazing.
