Comment by Professor: The war of 1812 was fought by mostly white soldiers. No black soldiers were assigned to Fort McHenry.

I too had an experience in one of those big old houses located off of Montebello. I am an electrician and this experience happened while on a service call to the house sometime around 2005. The house was of the Frank Lloyd Wright influenced craftsmen style with beautiful wooden columns in the living room and a grand sun parlor with white trimmed windows which jutted out like a box on the first floor.
Anyway I was replacing a dimmer in the dining room. I was in a kneeling position just getting up to throw out my little bits of wire and trash. As I rose I caught a shadow figure sweep past in the mirror (mounted on the closet door).|
At first I thought it might be the homeowner standing in the kitchen doorway. But when I compared the angles the geometry of it all just didn't match up. This figure had apparently passed directly behind me and could not have been the homeowner.
I looked at the guy flabbergasted. Not wanting to admit I saw anything I just sort of gave him this inquisitive fearful glance like is this place haunted? He sort of returned with his own sort of nodding glance like yeah.
