The       ghost of a nurse with a blood-splattered uniform showed up pulling a body over the grass in Purse State Park in the early morning hours. The ghost mentioned avenging a murder. Several of the folks who live here argue this phantom is probably the undead phantom of a local person who used to have a house here in Nanjemoy. A female with her right   arm and left leg amputated was witnessed on the summit of Stretchmark Hill in the early morning hours before sunrise looking at the sight. The witness panicked and ran off.
