In his account it came to a head and a volley of muskets was sent back and forth through the woods and one man died. He even knew the names of the families involved. This supposedly happened in the 1750s. Now I have forgotten the names but would love it if someone else knew them. (uncle David left us last year. He was an avid lover of     history and was a farm hand his whole life working with draft horses. He seemed to know the history of every farm in the county. ) I'd love to see if anyone else has had this experience. I believe he's tied to the land and the swamp. I spent a lot of my time playing gi joe back there in the marshy jungle... Maybe he followed me from there. At any rate I was scared as hell as a kid... But never really Felt that it was malicious.
