A local resident alleges that this ghost   is the ghost of a visitor that was killed while journeying through Welcome a long time ago. The ghost of a civil war soldier may be spotted time and again in Chapel Point State Park at night going out of control. One of the folks who live here confidently claims that this ghost gets pleasure from startling foolhardy folks who are bold enough to disturb the peace in Welcome.
