At the old early station a light can be seen...the story goes a man was hit by a train and his head was cut off..u can still see the lantern the man was carring lookin for his head....ive been its completly freaky this has been on t.v on unsolved mysteries...noone knows what it is but it sure is weird!!! The spirit of an awfully mangled hunter dragging a dead bear has been made out on one or two occasions late at night ascending out of Roquist Pocosin soaked in dirty water. One of the residents confidently argues that this ghost may well be a celebrated days gone by resident of Aulander.
A female with no head can every so often be observed late in the night floating along Beaverdam Swamp.
