Bessemer City, North Carolina Ghost Tales My granddaughters and their friend came home from school, playing outside in the front yard. I saw the girl from inside the house, and about 15 minutes after the girl walked down the street on besstown road, the girl was at one speed sign and she disappeared. Then they said she reappeared and about got hit by a truck but it missed her. And she was behind it and walked to the green pole down the street and she disappeared again. They came screaming in the house. They just saw a girl disappear, and I ask what she was wearing. They all said, she had a book bag, weird eyes, looked to be about 16 years old, purplish brown hair and she walked pass them on the road and did not even look at them. Her earrings were two different colors. They said it was a red car, not a truck. This happened on 2-24-09 about 3:30pm. If anyone else has seen this I would like to know. These are some of the spooky things that have happened   here recently. The ghost of an aged witch has allegedly been spotted on several occasions drifting along Abernethy Creek at midnight. A guy with a big hole through his chest can occasionally be witnessed by the entrance to Crowders Mountain State Park pushing orbs about. Lots of residents claim this ghost enjoys frightening folks who come seeking ghosts in Bessemer City. A gentleman having the head of a demon was noticed up on the summit of Crowders Mountain screaming names of people. When the bystander materialized the spirit ran off. A partially decomposed human corpse showed up appearing terrifying in Crowders Mountain State Park late in the night. The appearance of the watcher frightened the ghost who then disappeared. No matter what, it indisputably is a creepy ghost that you shouldn't go looking for. The spirit of a grower wearing a farmer hat was spotted marveling at The Pinnacle in the early morning hours before sunrise. The eye witness freaked out and escaped. One thing's for sure, this ghost certainly is terrifying; one that is rather not disturbed.
