I was 1 of 6 children living there. My mother was alone because my father had left us. My brother and I were looking for oranges along the Railroad track that had been discarded b the grocery store that stood on the Hill across the tracks from the station. Under one Orange I found a five dollar bill. I     was so excited that I started running down the road towards the house on the way I encountered an old man walking with a cane. I shouted at him that I had found some money he smiled and told me to hurry home and give it to my mother. I had never seen the man before and never saw him again. We were the only house down that road except for some black share croppers. The man was white. When I told my mother about him she said she did not know of anyone like that who lived near by.
