When I was a child in mid 1966 we would go go see the maco light it was on the train tracks the train conducter with his lantern would go up, and down the tracks looking for his head everybody would go there even the adults I don't hear anything about it any more maybe he found his head does any one remember this.

Comment by Garrett: This is in Vander NC. Not far from east Fayetteville we call it the Vander lights because you see the glow of the lantern in one hand and a lighter glow of a cigarette in the other.
Comment by Cherry: Yes, I actually am considering going to investigate this claim of the Vander Light. Do you know where about to start walking? Or do you just start at the crossroads in Vander :/.

There is a spirit of a man that wonders through Ft. Bragg and up and down all American Hwy. It's said to be a man who was struck several times by cars and killed.
