This happened in early July 2015... After learning about Kinstons Civil War battle of Jones Bridge in 1862 and that my ancestors had built the original bridge in 1827 I found their cemetery located on the property of a hotel. As I went to check out the cemetery I caught a couple wiffs of cigar smoke out of nowhere. The smell did not linger like if someone stood next to me with a cigar; the smell vanished just as quick as it came. No one was around either. Could it have been one of my ancestors or possibly a Civil War soldier? I am convinced the area by the Kinston bridge has some unsolved mysteries.
