Roaring Gap PAGE 1   2

There is an area between Roaring Gap and Elkin on Elkin mountain called mystery hill. It is said that a woman and her children were trying to escape her abusive husband that was shooting at them. Her car stalled out and the children got out and tried to push it up the hill.
They were all killed. If you go to mystery hill late at night and Park at the bottom of the hill and put your car in neutral it will roll uphill to the stop sign. Some folks have
gotten out of there vehicle to find little hand prints and the back of their vehicle in the dust.
No one has ever been harmed there to my knowledge.

Comment by Joe: This is very true. I've taken 2 different vehicles here and had the same result. I kind of did see little prints in the back of my car.
