Star, North Carolina Ghost Tales About 6 years ago, on route 220 somewhere south of star, I was driving south, when I noticed an old lady standing on the right side of the road waving at me. She had white, unkept hair and a white peasant blouse, and a blue skirt, but she was standing in knee-high grass. She looked to be in her 60's or 70's. However there were no houses for miles and miles, she shouldn't have been there. She didn't look evil, she was just waving, I waved back but when I looked in the rearview mirror there was no one there. I just know she was a spirit, have you heard of anything similar in that area? I didn't feel threatened       of scared at all. But I felt her loneliness......... The ghost of an elderly guy with a big gray beard may be distinguished often slurping regular from a fuel pump at a fuel station in Star. Based on what the local residents claim, this phantom is the undeceased soul of a long forgotten Star local. Whichever way, this ghost undoubtedly is menacing; one that you wouldn't wish to encounter on a dark night. A lady with a knife sticking out of her head has occasionally been noticed walking a Poodle late in the night on a gloomy Star road.
