A partly rotten human body is frequently witnessed at a coin operated phone in Stem talking on the telephone. The ghost of a farmer dressed in a farmer hat has supposedly been noticed on one or two instances by Camp Creek shining a flash light. Some of the residents claim this spirit is that of a person who resided here in Stem many years ago. The ghost of a young-looking air force pilot may regularly be seen in Camp Butner Wildlife Management Area around midnight pondering. According to the local residents, this ghost likes startling foolish folks who are courageous enough to interrupt the serenity in Stem.
