A semi see-through gentleman clad as the captain of a ship showed up at Big Marsh Swamp before sunrise tossing pebbles into the flow. The appearance of the observer scared the ghost who then vanished. One of the people who live here confidently argues that this spirit is the spirit of a visitor that was killed while driving through Tar Heel many years ago.

The ghost of a strapped up gentleman was made out before dawn crawling out of Beaver Dam Swamp soaked in filth. The eye witness was frightened and ran away.
