  There was a suicide on the bridge years ago and you can still see the guy jumping from the bridge if you go and look at the bridge on foggy days. Just look towards the north side of the middle of the bridge and you can see a man jumping.
He had a weight tied to him to be double sure and you can see that too. When he hits the water there is no splash. Usually suicide jumper ghosts don't have splashes. The ghost has no material substance to make a splash.
It's
    spiritual energy that goes right through anything. That's why there's no splash.

Many years ago at the age of 16 in 1971 my brother myself and a friend decided to spend the night at the railroad trussel where Joe Baldwin was supposed to have lost his head and haunted the tracks in Maco, NC.
It was getting dark as we walked the gravel road from the street down to the trussel. I would say it was maybe a mile or so to the trussel. We met a few people walking back the other way to the road.
