Abbeville, South Carolina Ghost Tales I haven't seen what this ghost/spirit looks like. I've sensed him in the Abbewood Bed and Breakfast a few years ago. I believe that he is a soldier from the Civil war who was working on the attic, which is still unfinished. It's believed that he ended up hanging himself while working or maybe his wife hung him some how. Im not exactly sure. But doors have shut on their own. There have been indents in pillows and beds. There's been an odd odor from an unexplainable source. He's not scary or rude by any means. The undead are crawling over this settlement as the folks who live here will report to you. Not everyone trusts in the accounts the folks who live here tell, but seeing is believing and if you spend a night here in Abbeville, you might observe a phantom. These are some of the spooky things that have happened       here recently. A woman with the head of a goblin is often made out burying a dead body by a big boulder in Abbeville Historic District before dawn. One thing is for certain, this ghost sure is menacing; one that you would not want to run into after midnight. A woman grasping her head beside her arm has been witnessed on several   occasions chucking pebbles into the stream at Adams Branch at the stroke of midnight. The ghost of a guy having half his head not there may repeatedly be seen on the water's edge of Four H Club Lake discussing into the thin air. A decapitated female can be distinguished often up on the apex of Parsons Mountain reading a pamphlet. The ghost of a young girl is sometimes observed trying to find a woman down by Rapley Shoals late in the night. The ghost of a woman with half her head missing has allegedly been spotted on a few occasions going through the freezer in the kitchen of an Abbeville building around midnight. Anyhow, this is a hostile ghost that you shouldn't go searching for. A person with a skeleton face having on murky robes can from time to time be made out sitting at a coffee table in an Abbeville building. A lady having an axe in her head was witnessed looking at folks in an Abbeville mobile home through a door crack. This exact ghost has been made out often in this neighborhood. In any event, it's without a doubt a chilling phantom that should be kept away from.
