Bowman, South Carolina Ghost Tales The Overcoat : Have you ever been driving or riding in a car and jump because you saw something from the corner of your eye? You jump because for an instant your mind tells you it stepped into the road or near the road. Then you realize that there isn?t anything to be seen. I would say it has happened to most people even if they don?t speak of it. I have been told that it is spirits teasing us or we are getting a glimpse of a spirit that wished to be left unseen. If it isn?t our imagination then I believe it to be the first reason. Maybe it is best to question ourselves about what we almost saw than to actually see the spirit. I have never seen this spirit right out. Once I thought maybe I had a quick glimpse, but it was one of those times that you can?t be sure. To see it clearly would be amazing to me, but I know it would give me a fright, goose bumps to say the least. Someone that had the experience told me that it was an odd thing to see and chilled her to the bone. The darkness of the night with just enough moonlight to enable you to       see its gliding shape doing down the side of the road. Its headless shape floating steady and smoothly for a short distance then disappearing back into the darkness. A headless specter in a long black overcoat. The manor of dress leads one to believe that it is from a time of one hundred years old ago. Is the specter searching for his head or is he   looking for the one who caused his fate? I do not know.
