Custom Search Charleston, South Carolina Ghost Sightings PAGE 2 Charleston PAGE 1   2   3   4     (...continued from the previous page) around dusk a couple of years ago.  The tour included the old city jail, which was just during the Civil War to house federal soliders.  Upon arriving at the jail.  I saw a fiqure of a man in the second story window and turned to my friend that we were in a surpise scaring.  We went inside the building and started the tour.  It was very cold and damp in the building and we moved upstairs, we were told of the history of each     room/level.  We were told to look into one of multi-person jail cells (you actually stick you head in a hole in the door which has a steel cage on the other side to view the room) and then I noticed it was the same level and window that I saw the fiqure before we went in the building -- the room was empty and the door was LOCKED.  I got a very creepy feeling and wanted to leave the building ASAP.  I told my friend later what happened thinking she would have had the same experience, but she didn't.
