Clemson, South Carolina Ghost Tales The summer after I graduated from Clemson in 1996 I stayed at the University to make the job search a little easier.? I sent my evenings walking alone the dikes that keep Lake Hartwell from flooding half of the University.? On a July evening I was walking back from the Walker Course on the dikes. I entered the woods that separate the two dikes, around the area of the Rowing Complex.? I had made this journey over 20 times since graduation, but on this night as I turn towards the highway a shadow of a figure appeared in front of me for a split second.? I stopped in my tracks, the hair on my neck stood up straight, and I almost fainted as I grasp for breath.? The figured then faded away as it walked though the woods toward the lake.? I now believe in ghost.? I am not afraid though I continued the journey every night I could that last summer at Clemson.? I never saw the figure again; maybe I was looking too hard.
