A local woman alleges that this phantom is the undead soul of an old Hardeeville local. The spirit of a gentleman in soldier's attire can from time to time be noticed gazing down into the water at Deadmans Point in the early morning hours before sunrise. A knight's armor lacking a human inside was seen posting a container at a Hardeeville post office. This exact phantom has been perceived over and over again in this neighborhood. The ghost of a lady with a sack bound around her head came into view crying in Skidaway Island State Park by the park headquarters. There are numerous descriptions involving this ghost in the vicinity. A half translucent man outfitted as the captain of a fishing boat was seen swallowing regular unleaded from a fuel pump at a gas station in Hardeeville. Several folks in the neighborhood have had comparable events involving a similar ghost. One of the residents determinedly asserts that this ghost is that of a resident who had a house here in Hardeeville a long time ago.
