Away from Edisto beach and Walterboro. You don't see it every time but once you see it you know it. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to the Jacksonboro light. :).

The Jacksonboro ghost is real... I did this 2 nights ago 9/2010 and it happen. After flashing our lights we heard the train and saw the light first it was bright white then it got red. It lasted about 5 -7 min. I did this with my mom, dad, sister, and my niece.

One night on the way home from Beaufort we stopped with my grandparents and my friend Miranda. Her and I were freaking out all the way down the road and to calm ourselves down we were listening to some music and the song was saying ''well I'll never be the same train wreck that I am'' and we started laughing and joking around about it. My grandparents began to ask questions about how the man died and such. After a minute or two my friend and I started freaking out because we realized it could possibly hear us and we were scared about how dark it was outside.(silly I know but we are both sixteen and a bunch of wussies) we instantly shut up not wanting to offend the ghost. After about 30 seconds Miranda tapped me on the shoulder to turn round to see how dark it was out the back window(we were in a jeep) and a red light appeared. It seemed to be getting closer and then it would fall back some. We told my grandfather and he said it was probably just a reflector on the trees. We turned back around and the light was even closer (at this point we were almost to the church).
The light got bigger then smaller but stayed glowing red. It disappeared for about 3-4 seconds and then came back larger and closer than it was before. Miranda and I were ducking down and then finally it stayed in one spot and just vanished. During our few minutes of seeing the light it moved from one side of the road to the other. Once we got down to the church Miranda and I had had enough so we convinced my grandparents to just leave. A few minutes after we had left my grandfather asked if we wanted to go back and try again. We did. Miranda and I kept our mouths shut this time and watched behind us. Nothing appeared. No reflectors no tail lights no nothing.(when we first turned on to Parker's ferry road there was a car pulling out. Maybe they had started it we aren't sure) we went down to the church turned around drove up some flashed our lights and waited for the train sound .Nothing happened so we just ended up leaving. We definitely saw something that first time though.
