Newberry, South Carolina Ghost Tales This sighting happened on the Old Whitmire Highway. We were headed back toward Newberry. There in the distance we saw a very bright light that appeared to be a possible wreck. We slowed the car down to a crawl in order to pass but to our surprise when we got within approx. 10 feet of the light, we saw two figures that were illuminated and see thru. We could see the man had on a flannel shirt and bib overalls holding what looked like an old train lantern and a brown dog sitting on the ground beside him. As we passed by,it seemed as if the two figures watched us pass, but instead of turning their heads, the scene seemed to turn as we passed by. After we were completely passed it was gone. Needless to say we were gone as well. One evening I stepped out of the kitchen area and watched a woman walk down the hallway and enter into the bedroom       located to the right. I thought maybe my wife had gotten up and gone in there for some reason. It was then that I noticed my wife moving in the chair beside me. I spoke with the landlord and was told the story of the old woman that had passes away there. I also lay in bed one evening, when the whole bed started to shake. We currently live off   of Wilson rd. Where I have witnessed full body shadow people move about. I have seen them enter our bedroom and walk up to the side of the bed. My wife has felt them sit on the foot of the bed as we lay there. One night I got up and when I entered the hallway, I witnessed one leave a bedroom from the other end of the place, run through the living room and kitchen area, then peek around the corner at me, as if watching what I was doing. Where I have never been harmed, these sightings can be disturbing at times. . Her sone still lives there and many have seen  orbs and strange shadows in the house. Also odd noises and things have been knocked out of people's hands. You can actually feel the presence of the woman. She is not a vicious ghost. More loving and protective of the son, who took care of her when she died.
