So out of caution, I immediately came to a complete stop, just to let him pass and to see which way he was going to go. Boy was I in for a surprise. As he was nearing the edge of the curb, I thought to myself that he was going to stop, look up, and watch for oncoming traffic, but this did not happen. The man kept his posture and stepped     off of the edge of the curb. And as his foot hit the pavement of the street, he immediately disappeared and his body collapsed into a huge black mass that flew across the road in front of me.
