I was around 13 years old when I had my first experience with this spirit. I had been at the ranger's house, playing video games and decided to head back to my house. The ranger's residence is on one side of the park and the superintendent's residence is on the other. Instead of walking down the paved road, I decided to     take shortcut through the woods, using the old Sumter road. I had just hit the road, near the site where the old mill used to be (there is still part of the mill stone there)when I saw a figure coming towards me. I immediately moved into the woods to hide. From where I was hidden, I saw the figure of the headless woman walk past me. She did not turn nor acknowledge me at all, she just kept walking. After she was out of sight, I ran all the way home from my hiding place. This first encounter was nearly 19 or so years ago, but I have seen her twice since then.
