Rains, South Carolina Ghost Tales Rains, South Carolina seems like any other place in this country, but the ghost stories told by the local residents are enough to make anybody reassess spending a night in this place. Things happen around here that cannot be scientifically explained. Several people who live here allege there are no spirits, but Rains is bursting with undead souls just waiting to shock you. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A woman's body having an animal's head was made out on the shore of Alligator Lake mounding pieces of wood. The watcher got       scared and ran off. If you listen to what the local residents say, this ghost is the tormented spirit of a long departed Rains person who lived here. A fairly decayed human corpse showed up heading   a directed excursion of Devils Elbow to a collection of ghosts before dawn. The ghost didn't seem to be bothered by the bystanders. Lots of locals declare this ghost is the ghost of a vacationer that was murdered while driving through Rains some time ago. The ghost of a farmer wearing a worn straw hat was distinguished staring at the sight from the top of Half Moon Sand Hills at the stroke of midnight. The ghost waved to the bystander. A young-looking girl having on a blood-splattered wedding gown came into view in the center of Briar Creek gobbling a cracker. When the phantom was noticed it faded away into the air. One thing's for sure, it certainly is a creepy spirit that you don't want to encounter on a dark night. A female with a blue face was noticed by Back Swamp smoking a pipe. The ghost was ingested by the air after being perceived. Anyhow, this ghost certainly is scary; one that you shouldn't go seeking.
