Travelers Rest, South Carolina Ghost Tales We lived in a house on Main street that was said to be the oldest house in town. We often heard footsteps in the central hallway though no one was there. Once my wife and I were in our bedroom watching TV and we both felt a cold draft pass over us. Immediately after that an item fell from the shelf in our closet. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A gentleman without a head is regularly perceived going through trash container on a Travelers Rest lane. The spirit of an elderly prospector       with a big mustache and an eye patch has purportedly been noticed on a few instances on a Travelers Rest residential road after midnight. The spirit of a flight attendant may be noticed often looking at the sight from the peak of Allen Knob in the early morning hours before sunrise. The phantom of an old cleaning lady has occasionally   been noticed consuming a carrot down at the water at Snyder Pond. Residents who have seen this ghost argue this ghost is the ghost of a traveler that was murdered while traveling through Travelers Rest some time ago. A black snake that shape-shifted into a female has been said to have been distinguished on a few instances downing chlorine at Chinquapin Lake Dam very late at night. A person who lives here argues that this ghost is that of a local who had a house here in Travelers Rest before the present. The phantom of a down-and-out gentleman can from time to time be perceived looking at a man slumbering on a futon in a trailer in Travelers Rest. One thing is for sure, it is unquestionably a terrifying ghost that you shouldn't go seeking. A terrifying being is frequently noticed in Northside PArk before dawn speaking into the night. Well, this ghost undoubtedly is terrifying; one that should be steered clear of. The ghost of a gentleman outfitted as a store clerk has supposedly been noticed on numerous instances heaving pieces of wood into the flowing water at Barton Creek at night. In any event, it's a menacing phantom that you do not want to bump into at the stroke of midnight.
