Walterboro, South Carolina Ghost Tales The home I rent in Walterboro is not only home to me but 3 others that are not alive. I have lived here since 2002. During the Fall the activity gets intense around here. Here are my stories. My master bedroom is one of the most active areas of the house. When I first moved in and did not have my bed frame put together yet, I had no choice but to sleep on my mattress in the middle of the floor. My husband and I both awoke around 3pm feeling like the other was holding us down. I screamed for my husband to get off of me and he said he was pinned down by an unknown force and was asking for me to help. We could not sleep for the rest of the night. The second night, still sleeping on the floor, I felt a spot next to my right foot getting hotter and hotter. At the peak of the temperature on this spot, it was so hot to the touch my hand turned red as though it was burned. I was actually afraid the bed was catching on fire. About two hours later, the closet door swung open for no reason at all and it was pushed open with a great force.       Some of the personal effects that I had placed in the closet started flying across the room. I had to duck for cover so I would not get hit. Since then, I have been awoken to something touching my face, a feeling of getting bitten (with temporary teeth marks), or my hair being pulled. All of this activity starts heavily in the month of October   and starts to subsides by mid November although never going away completely. The next spirit in my house is a woman. She resides in the hall bathroom. Every child that comes into my home is either terrified of this bathroom or curious of it. The ones that are curious always go in and play ''peek-a-boo'' with her by pulling back the shower curtain and actually saying those words ''peek-a-boo''. If you walk down the hallway and approach the bathroom, your vision will sometimes go to black. It is as if you are walking through her and you are in darkness and can not see a thing in front of you. She can be seen sometimes walking from the bathroom to the bedroom that is directly across the hall. One time, when my husband hit the exact area of both these doors, a picture that was on the wall flew off its hinge and landed 10 feet in front on him. He went to pick it up and put it back on the wall and it was lifted from his hand and throw back down in the same place it was on the floor. We both looked at one another in amazement not believing what we had just seen. Needless to say, that picture never went back up. In the bedroom she visits, the closet door will sometimes slowly creak open by itself. We use this extra room as a recording studio since we have no children and it is just us. We have often picked up EVP's of a woman's voice during recordings in which there are only all men present.
