Winnsboro, South Carolina Ghost Tales I don't know if this would be classified as Newberry or Winnsboro, but I have been to a place that is kinda scary out on Newberry highway. It's called the old Airport cemetery or Flag Lake. My father and my uncle have had experiences similar to an UFO. Where they saw bright lights and the truck wouldn't crank. There is what looks to be a burnt out church, only the brick walls remain. My father says that there was a skull there that my uncle decided to take as a souvenir. He soon regretted that decision. He got bad luck in the form of DUI's when he had none previously. He put the skull back and the bad luck didn't follow him anymore. My father swears that a lot of people committed suicide in that cemetery, but they have began to replace headstones that no longer read that. He also stated that it was about 13 all lined up that says this. Its on a road with houses at the front, but you get into the woods and there is no sounds and no houses. I have been out there at night and have had some pretty unexplained noises and the feeling of being       followed. It's a pretty cemetery a lot of old graves and all , but I won't go back at night. I swear there was something in the woods around that place watching us as we read the names of the people and wandered around the church and wondered why it was burnt out... (I have been trying to dig up info on this place for sometime now and have been unable   to because the records do not seem to exist. Please if anyone has any info, post here. I would like to know more about it. Any history would be good.
