People are acting like Crawford Farm is a new thing because they're going on the ghost tour. It was a really big deal back in the late 70s early 80s because they had freaking cults out in the woods trying to have sťances and stuff. I remember driving through there on the road by Babcock Manner and seeing the cops arresting teenagers in black trench coats and capes with their faces painted white. They supposedly started a big fire with their candles somewhere back in the woods there. I don't necessarily believe in ghosts, but I know that area's been a big deal long before all these folks have been catching on to it. I always thought it was the Caldwell family that was the skinned man.

My sister lives out by Crawford Farm in Falling River. She moved there when she got married in the 60s. There was nobody out there then, and she lived on Country Club Road back when it was a one-lane dirt road. We used to visit her, and I didn't know anything about the ghost stories, but we had dozens of weird things happen to us out there. My husband used to swear there was a man that stood behind her shed who didn't have skin on his face, except for a long grey beard.
When I finally heard the Crawford story at the ghost tour at Wolfbane, I FREAKED OUT. They skinned him to keep his body from resurrecting, and my husband had seen a skinned man for decades out there. We also saw a carriage pulled by horses ride right past us on part of the old road that's raised above the present day road. We both saw it. I pulled out my Kodak to snap a picture, and it was gone in a breath. It scared us both so much.
