Appomattox, Virginia Ghost Sightings - PAGE 3
(...continued from the previous page)|
I loved reading on here about the Native American connection to the spirits. We have hiked to the falls at Falling River, and it is clearly other-worldly there. Absolutely makes sense that all of this stemmed from the original people there and their spirituality.

I was absolutely obsessed with the stories of The Crawford Place when I was in high school in Appomattox. I had the unique opportunity to see Elijah's journal before it went missing back in the 70s. That thing was terrifying. Jonny Williams owned it, and when he died it apparently went to family, but although I've hunted for it for years now, it's apparently MIA.
During my years of obsession, I also was able to interview a member of a local Native American tribe who explained the spiritual history of the area to me. Apparently there was a belief that there were spirits off the Yellow River that governed the forests and wild lands around the area that became Crawford's Farm. These ''gods'' were part of a powerful wolf spirit that this Native American believed was the spirit Elijah summoned.
There are a dozen stories that people know nothing about from that property. It was a very religious place for the Native Americans and Crawford disturbed that sanctuary, resulting in all the dark history that occurred there.
