The ghost of a homeless man has allegedly been perceived on many instances swallowing blood from a container down beside the water at Arbuckle Neck. The ghost of a youthful cowboy may occasionally be perceived in Ballast Narrows at the stroke of midnight trying to conceal a body. People argue that this phantom is the undeparted       spirit of a long dead Atlantic resident. A chilling creature was spotted at Wallops Beach smoking a pipe. The bystander escaped when he spotted the ghost. A local person says that this spirit is the spirit of a visitor that was killed while passing through Atlantic some decades ago. The spirit of a man dressed as a car mechanic came into sight pulling a dead body across the dirt in Wallops Island National Wildlife Refuge at night.
