In the daylight hours Blackwater, Virginia is like any other United States town, but there are strange things occurring in this town during the dark hours. Phantoms are so typical around here; a lot of folks who live here don’t even think about it anymore. People who have never stayed for a few days in this city will laugh and say it's all just superstition, but anybody who has stayed for a few days in Blackwater, Virginia knows better.

  and left leg sliced off is now and then witnessed in the early morning hours fluttering over Back Valley.

The phantom of a man carrying a blood-splattered knife has been made out on frequent instances at Bend Branch at night flinging stones into the flowing water. Folks here claim that this phantom may well be a well-known past local of Blackwater.

An army outfit pacing around with no body in it can now and then be spotted hovering in the air like a blimp in Blackwater.

The spirit of a civil war warrior has often been spotted very late at night studying Dry Valley in detail.
