thinking that I had failed my prank. Then I heard two kids laughing, then three. Then it got to the point that it was more than I could count. I ran to Billy, grabbed him. Then we both got on our bikes and left. The next morning we told our friends at the railroad and no one would believe us except Mr. Samuel.

Comment by D: After reading both stories of the Cape Charles Baseball field what actually caused it to become haunted by the children who were playing baseball? Was there a train accident while they were playing that caused their deaths or something else? It would be nice to have the explanation of what it is called the field of screams as apparently there are haunted Halloween attractions that use this moniker all over the country. Other states also have ''field of screams'' for other reasons. Please update if possible for the rest of us who would like to know the entire story. Thank you!.

Cape Charles is the best place to see the elusive ghost ship that is sometimes seen in the southern Chesapeake bay. Best time is late fall. Go down to the beach and look out over the water at sunset. The ship always goes Northbound at this location.
It's about half a mile out. You can see it moving along while going in and out of visibility. Tall ship of yesteryear, you can't miss it if you're looking.
