Criders, Virginia Ghost Tales When I was about 10 years old, my parents, my uncle, my aunt, and sisters went back to Berton Criders Va. We all had planned to go back to Criders because our parents have been telling me and my sisters and our brother that a woman had her head cut off by a man along time ago. The man put the womans head down a well back in Criders. My dad grew up to the same ghost story. One night when I was about 7 years old after our dad told us that ghost story to us girls. I went to my bedroom so scared and before I went to sleep I made sure the window was locked and when I looked out that window I saw a person in the feild with no head. I was so scared I got into bed and covered up my head up. As I got older we took that trip back to criders at that water well. I was ready to see the well and also did not believe the woman was in that well. Just her body with no head. We got to the dirt road and our dad said we are almost there. I had chills. We got to the well and we all got out of our cars. I stayed beside my mom us women and girls went first.       We got to the well and I looked into the well it was full of water--- kind of dirty. Nothing happened until our dad and uncle walked up behind us, and they looked in the well and it started to bubble at the men. I got so scared. I ran as fast as I could to the car. I got down on the floor of the car. Also my mom and dad and the rest of the family was   right behind me. We all got into that car as fast as we could and started the car and got out of there fast. See a man was the one who cut the woman's head off and she is suppose to walk every night looking for her head and the man that had done it. I think that's why that well bubbled to my dad and uncle because they are men. I tried once since I am older to go back to criders to the well, but I think I am too scared to go back. Maybe one day I will go back.
