The sounds of breaking limbs, in the distance. Then a eerie wind will begin to blow. It is said that when this wind blows, you can hear voices whispering your name, as if to beckon you to enter the dense forest of the mountain.
This voice is the voice of the ''woods Walker''. The ''woods Walker'' is a legend around the small town of Dryden, with many of the deaths on that mountain being attributed to it. The most interesting fact, is this area is
not only supposedly haunted now, but that the Cherokee say the mountain is cursed.|
They say that it is the walking grounds of a kalona, a fierce Cherokee
demon. The strange part is that the Kalona is known as an imitator. What a very strange coincidence, huh? So if you are ever around Dryden, just ask some of the locals for directions to the ''old ridge road''.|
Go on up the mountain after dark, say around midnight, and see if you can hear the ''woods Walker'' whisper your name. If you live to tell about it, just leave us a message on here, and let us know your experience. .
