Fort Monroe, Virginia Ghost Tales | |
|
I worked security in the late 90s at the (No Suggestions) hotel. I never really believed in ghost. While I was there while I did my rounds at night. I would always feel like some one was walking right behind me. You would feel this presence around you and you would always look behind you. You never felt that you were alone. Out side at night the closed off floor where many also reported seeing apparitions I would feel as if some one was watching me out of the window. A janitor would tell me stories of that floor. I asked him to take me up there he said you sure he said ok. No more then a minute up there you could here foot steps coming down the hall. Not quiet or soft but loud foot steps as if some one was coming to greet you or see who you were. That the first place I ever been that spooked me and also where I expereinced unexplained happenings. lived in the side closest to it. I remember often seeing strange lights in windows and around the property that seemed to just float. I also would see what appeared to be soldiers from the 1800's atop the moat wall. Actually, anytime you'd walk around inside the walls of the fort, you'd think you saw things. I had a friend who lived in Ghost Alley

who was often terrified because he said he would see ghosts both outside and inside his home. My most personal experience was one night laying in bed and seeing a small human-formed black mass walk from one side of my room and into the closet. It was well outlined as I could see its legs moving. Scared the daylights out of me. Ft. Monroe was an amazing was an amazing place to live when I was young, and is rich in history that you can walk on and touch and be a part of. I believe that is what makes it so active. I challenge anyone to be there for any amount of time and not see something that they can't explain. Submitted by Anthony Categories: home, lights, soldiers
My husband and I stayed at the Chamberlin Hotel in 1997.? We were getting ready for bed and my husband decided to take a shower. While he was in the shower, someone (something?) picked up his discarded clothes, carefully folded them, and placed them next to his pillow.? We never saw or heard anything, but we were in the room the
