This house dated back to the civil war and was beautiful. Unfortunately, the wife of the commander and their young children where telling us of events that included items moving around the house on their own, unexplained broken dishes and other activities that was not explainable and was upsetting the children. I loved my experiences at Ft. Monroe and for 10 years     after leaving the post my husband who had experienced these events with me would bring them up in conversations with friends and family. He would insist that I tell the stories and the fear was still so deep I would cry...living the events all over in my mind. .
