I moved to ft. Monroe with my family in 1998. I was nine years old at the time. I never paid much attention to the fact that war was actually fought there on ft. Monroe many years ago. I was nine; young and wanted to have fungi must add that my years in Virginia were excellent! It was exciting.. The scenery the weather the food... The ghosts. I lived there on Fenwick Rd. One night I was left alone for a while with my god sister (a one year old) we both were in a room shared by my older sister and I.I was playing with her trying to keep my mind calm about the fact I was nine and alone with a child... And also that I knew something was up with our place that we stayed in. I decided to take her and I into the living room. I had her in my right arm and as I was exiting my room my god sister turned and made eye contact with ''the wall'' and she lifted her hand waved and said Hi . Hmmmm... It was just her and I so I knew she was seeing someone that I could not.
I always heard that children have the eyes for seeing spirits. I was getting scared and left to the living room quickly and hoped for my parents to come home soon. Other things that happened is that when I would be in my room..Lights on of course I would be so sleepy trying to stay awake incase I spotted anything or anyone who I do not recognize and when I would just start to slip away into a comfy sleep I would hear whispers right in my ear and I'd jump up quickly. I was extremely annoyed by that especially when I wanted good rest. We owned a pitbull when we lived in Virginia(he's passed away now). Out of nowhere at night he'd bark and bark grawl and slowly follow whatever it was in the house until he's reached a closed door he could not get into. He saw things too and he was so cute and sometimes naughty lol. My brother has seen an old lady ghost really early in the morning at the officers club. The Chamberlin hotel I've been in but never stayed a full night there...That's haunted too. Anyway no matter ho w haunted that base is.. It's super fun. Perfect for kids...even though it's haunted lol.

Comment by John: I lived on Mcnair Dr. between 1997 to 1999. I was about the same age as you I went to school at St. Marys right across the bridge. I never saw anything at my house but I distinctly remember staying over at a friend's on Tidball Dr. right next to the movie theater.
