Along the stair that lead from Main Street to top Street there are reports of the sound of a crying child late at night. A few years ago there was a new house being built near the stairs and a child skeleton was found wrapped in a military jacket since that time the crying has stopped.

The old theater in Fries is also haunted. There once was a movie theater at that location. One night a young woman meet her secret boyfriend there to take in a movie. What she did not know was that her main boyfriend had heard that she was cheating and had followed them to the theater.
As the young woman and man were leaving the theater he confronted them just inside the door. An argument ensued and the boyfriend drew a gun and shot and killed the young girl dead. Now you can feel her presence in the theater and often hear foot step and a cold feeling near the old counter.
I have been here several times as a teen and it is true that there is a cold spot there even in the summer heat.
