He noted the figure of a person. In the 1930's a greyhound bus plunged through a gate of a draw bridge just below where the motel would later stand. All of the passengers on that bus drowned in the icy waters. The ghost was supposedly that of one of the people on the bus. Submitted by Steve

When I was a young girl and lived in city point in Hopewell, VA. I was sent to the corner store. Across the street from the store was an old hotel and former Civil War headquarters. On the way to the store I saw a Confederate soldier standing in front of that building carrying what looked like a gun with a sharp point on the end of it. The soldier looked right at me. I turned and ran home leaving my shoe behind. When my mom came to check it out the soldier was gone. But I've never forgotten it. Submitted by Dreama
