As a young girl, I lived in a house called Auburn just off of Acquinton Church Road. It is quite a stately home to this day. It was reportedly visited by Robert E. Lee during the Civil War as he gifted a book to the residents there. Sometime thereafter, however, some heathens resided there and used the baptismal from the old Acquinton Church as their watering trough for horses. My parents purchased Auburn from the Garber

went out. I was in my upstairs bedroom, believing that I was alone. I felt someone behind me and turned to look. A slender lady in an old timey dress was standing behind me. I saw the swish of her skirts as she hurried away. I believed at the time that it was my younger brother playing a trick, but when I called for him, he was downstairs.
