Lynchburg, Virginia Ghost Sightings - PAGE 11
(...continued from the previous page)|
It used to have many old boxwoods and gardens. But the new owners have removed them and the old barns and had / have a bed n breakfast and use it for wedding receptios etc.. Anyway I did a little researchand seems the 'west' name caqme from a Civil War 'col.
West'' and I suspect it was a large plantation back in those days... I believe Mrs. Brockenborough was a descendant from this colonel west.... As for ghosts I never saw one but we kids were
forbidden to enter or play too close to the west manor house...|
By the way I was born in 1944.. There is another old home nearby on the other side
of the railroad known as the 'walker or walkup '' place... Was a creepy old place too... And this land/house was somehow associated thru.|
Mrs. Brockenborough./ family....
