West'' and I suspect it was a large plantation back in those days... I believe Mrs. Brockenborough was a descendant from this colonel west.... As for ghosts I never saw one but we kids were forbidden to enter or play too close to the west manor house... By the way I was born in 1944.. There is another old home nearby on the other side of the railroad known as the 'walker or walkup '' place... Was a creepy old place too... And this land/house

I was standing in my bedroom folding clothes when I heard something raddled on my dresser I turned to see what it was and I have a ring it is a big ring just as I turned around it flew across the floor about 10 feet. A few days later I was coming out of my grandkids bathroom and I had to step back a big black shadow flew right by me. That's not all my son does not believed in ghost at all and last week he asked did I get up in the night I told him no and he said he heard someone open the front door and walked up and down the hall all night he did get up to see what it was there was nothing there. Other things have happen also. Submitted by Sandi
