Driving through John's Creek, you pass the ruins of the Blue Springs Hotel. You will miss it if you aren't looking closely, because it blends with the forest. It is literally falling in, and from the outside it has almost a ''V'' shape to it, from the middle of the building caving in. I always stopped and looked at it from my car, since I always wondered what it had been like in it's heyday. One day, around dusk, it was my friend's turn to drive so I was able to admire the scenery more than if I were driving. We passed the old Blue Springs Hotel ruins, and I turned around to look out the back window. What I saw was not possible. From inside a window on the side of the building, in what was once the upstairs, but was now hanging precariously at an angle, I saw a light. I had my friend stop the car so I could get a better look. The light was dim, like that of a lantern, but brighter than a candle. The hotel never had electricity. No person would have been able to get access to the area the light was coming from, because that part

of the building was falling away from the rest. Every time I would make the trip to John's Creek, I would always look at the old Blue Springs Hotel ruins, but never saw the light again. . Submitted by Karen Categories: hotel, lights
