Rappahannock Academy, Virginia Ghost Tales One early day I was fishing on the Rappahannock River (city dock) and I turned around and I saw a Confederate  ghost. All I saw was his face and looked liked he was cold and had a white stash and beard and looked as if he was mad. So I looked back foreward then turned around and he wasn't there. Submitted by Kris In the daylight hours Rappahannock Academy, Virginia is the same as any other US city, but when the dark shadows of the nighttime float in the undeceased appear. Ghosts are so normal in this place; a lot of local residents don’t even worry about it anymore. A number of local residents assert these tales are untrue, but there in fact are bloodcurdling things going down here in Rappahannock Academy during the moonlight hours. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The spirit of a female with satanic symbols etched into her nose was witnessed in the backseat of a car by the driver witnessing the ghost in his rear view mirror in the early morning hours before       sunrise. When witnessed the ghost came within reach of the observer who then ran off. In any event, this ghost undeniably is creepy; one that is preferably not upset. A woman with maggots crawling out of her nostrils was witnessed at Bagnalle Branch late in the night heaving rocks into the flowing water. This individual phantom has been distinguished   very often in this spot. The ghost of a chained up lady has repeatedly been spotted calling names of people in Farleyvale Bar very late at night. Folks who have made out this ghost allege this ghost could be the spirit of a local who died here in Rappahannock Academy some decades ago. Whatever folks verbalize, this is an intimidating ghost that you don't want to meet at night.
