They had on thermal tops with black suspenders, grey pants, and black boots. They had holes all in their clothes and looked tattered hungry and just worn out. They disappeared when I backed up to get a closer look at them.
At first I though they were hunters but they were too close to some newly built homes to be hunters. Then I thought they were re-enactors but then they disappeared.

I used to live off of Hermitage Road from when I was eight to sixteen years old, worst years of my life. When we first moved in on our first night there my mattress was still on the floor since we weren't quite done. All night I heard footsteps above me in the attic. I never really experienced a ghost before, so the next day I told my dad that we had animals in the attic. He explained our attic was insulated, and there was no floor. They can't walk up there. I thought it was weird, but I was eight and didn't care.

Then about a year later still hearing the footsteps, I woke up one night because my pet rabbits started stomping their feet. They were in my room, and normally I would fuss at them, but I felt creeped out. Then I heard heavy breathing. My bed was in a corner, and I was facing a wall. The breathing was on my neck. It was cold, and I was so petrified. I lay there until it stopped and fell asleep. It continuously escalated from there. I would wake up to what felt like a fist punching my back through my bed. I heard pacing in the hallway and saw handprints on my bathroom mirror that weren't mine. I would hear mom call my name, but it wasn't her.

Then one night I heard my laundry room doors shake in the hallway. I peaked open my door because it was 3:33 am, and they were shaking like somebody was stuck. I said ''hello,'' and it stopped. Then it viciously started up again, and I heard something running towards me. I slammed my door shut and locked it and watched as my doorknob shook, pulled, and twisted. I watched my door until the sun rose. Something paced back and forth all night outside my door once it stopped shaking it. From there it got worse. After that I saw a shadow man. A black figure so tall his head grazed the ceiling. He looked like a wraith thing from the Lord of the Rings. He would glide through my room. Red orbs started showing up by my closet.

In middle school I was on the land line, and it started hearing a man's voice in the background whispering my name. Stuff would disappear beside me, and when I would get mad and ask for it back I would get hit with a small object. I had a video game action figure that no matter how I put it in the morning it would be facing me. One time in a mirror near my bed in the corner of my eye I saw my own reflection turn and face me. Dead birds constantly hit my window. Flies were always dead in between windowpanes no matter how much my mom cleaned it.
