Roanoke, Virginia Ghost Tales The ''story'' about Berkley's Bottom in Vinton is completely a myth. There is no such story about the house in the curve up on the hill. I and some friends went up there one day and went back three days later at night. We actually stayed the night there to see what would happen. Nothing. All we found were empty cans, sleeping bags, and hobos. There is nothing to be found in Berkley's Bottom :). Submitted by Colleen       Category: home My home was built in 1952 my family has been the only family that has lived in the home since my grandfather had it built. Me and my mother moved in to the home in 2007 its right off Williamson rd. We had our first snowfall and it was about 930pm I went into the back yard and there were child size footprints. Appeared to be two sets in the middle of the yard nothing leading to it or from it, so I immediately got my camera. Took pictures of the sky, it was covered in spirit orbs. I could zoom in on one and it had the face of a man looked angry, lost and cold.       Shortly after taking the pictures the camera broke. Still useable but looks like I'm waving my camera around when taking the picture. The home isn't haunted, it's whatever it was built on. They visit inside the home some nights, my dog will not leave the bedroom. Just stand in the door way and growl. I am very curious on what was here before my home.   That night there had to have been 50 orbs men women and children. Submitted by Marie       Category: home This is for Cynthia regarding Berkley's Bottom.  Which is located of course near king street it in the main entrance to the 7 gates of hells that some old hicks used to run... pretty ghetto... not really scary, they ran it mainly as a scare mare for Halloween.  The scary part is supposed to be the 7 gates of hell but actually there have been more dead bodies found at Berkley's bottom... my mom used to tell me stories of a guy she graduated with and his car died while passing berklys bottom and he froze to death overnight. In the middle on august.  weird?. Submitted by Kristi       Category: cars Okay one night I woke up around 1a.m. And turned over and looked at my door and there was what seemed to be a floating cat head, It was black, cross-eyed and smiling (reveling it's teeth). It went up the door way but before it vanished it uncrossed it's eyes and looked dead at me. I was shocked, a little scared, and curious. Something told me not to be afraid, but to just try to calm.
