My daughter-in-law and I visited Crystal Caverns in Strausburg, VA probably 10 years ago. We were early in the tour, and we both caught movement to our left. We both saw a little girl in a long Victorian dress. We were not afraid but felt very peaceful. She disappeared pretty quickly, but it would have been fine if she had stayed. Submitted by Wanda

I lived in a house in Strasburg VA that was haunted by a civil war officer. One night my three children jumped in my bed in the middle of the night and said that some guy with long dark hair and a civil war jacket was walking around our dining room table.

I grabbed my 12 gauge shotgun and asked the guy what was he doing in my house as I was pointing my gun at him he walked into my kitchen turned around and smiled and faded out the door. I would have my silver shaking on my hutch in the dining room my cat wouldn't go in the dining room my lab would look up at the ceiling and growl and bark. The root cellar in the basement would have a pile of dirt and shovel and jar of water the pile would be big or small I thought my children were playing down there but they for some reason thought I was doing it.
Then I looked up and saw a trap door under the dining room that was covered by carpet. As soon as I moved the table that was covering the trap door the nightly noise stopped. There were other sightings of him by friends that would come up from the city on weekends.
